Friday the Thirteenth
Friday the Thirteenth in Port Dover is more than a date — it’s a legacy rooted in tradition, community, and decades of shared history.
The Port Dover Friday the 13th rally began in November 1981, when the thirteenth day of the month fell on a Friday. Local biker Chris Simons, along with about 25 friends, met at the Commercial Hotel for a simple group ride. The gathering was small, spontaneous, and informal — but it left a lasting impression. They enjoyed it so much that they decided to repeat the ride every time Friday the 13th appeared on the calendar.
What started as a quiet weekend meetup in a small lakeside town gradually grew into something far bigger. Over the years, Port Dover’s Friday the Thirteenth evolved into one of North America’s most iconic motorcycle rallies, attracting over 100,000 bikers from across the continent. Riders return not just for the motorcycles, but for the camaraderie, live music, shared traditions, and the unmistakable atmosphere that takes over the town.
Despite its reputation elsewhere as an unlucky date, Friday the Thirteenth in Port Dover represents the opposite — connection, loyalty, and belonging. It’s a celebration built on freedom, individuality, and the stories that have been passed down from one gathering to the next.
Furday the Thirteenth was created to honour this history. Inspired by the origins and spirit of Port Dover’s legendary event, our pet jerseys and accessories bring that same bold energy to dogs and cats with personality.
